Dem 4th of July Statement: America Sucks

When more Democrats believe in UFOs (58%) than are proud of America (32%) what do you expect the party to do? Shoot off fireworks while singing, “I’m an illegal alien doodle dandy”?

All they can do is issue another unhinged rant about how terrible America is for being mean to Muslims, illegal aliens and UFO aliens while bookending it with some cliched lip service about American history to avoid offending that 32% that don’t actually celebrate the Fourth by burning the flag in their backward while howling about institutional racism.

Here’s DNC boss Tom Perez’s celebration of America on the Fourth.

“As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we recognize that America’s founding promise remains out of reach for too many families. Too many members of our society are still struggling to find a good-paying job or get the health care they need. Too many women, LGBTQ Americans, people of color, and people with disabilities still face inequality and injustice across our society.

“Everywhere we look, our most fundamental values are under attack. Thousands of children have been separated from their parents at our southern border. At our highest court, workers’ rights are being taken away, voting rights are under assault, Muslim Americans are being discriminated against for their faith, and women’s right to choose is under threat like never before.

“The Democratic Party believes that all people are created equal – no matter who they are, where they come from, who they love, or how they pray.

… unless they’re white or Asian students applying to college, Jews or Christians who believe in the Bible, or Europeans trying to emigrate to America.

Everyone is equal. But some are more affirmatively equal than others. Just like in Animal Farm.

Oddly enough this statement isn’t even on the DNC site (or at least I couldn’t find it) and it’s only briefly excerpted on the DNC and Perez Twitter feed. Not only are they ashamed of America. But they’re ashamed of their statement about America.

Is that peak left or what?
