The PointBy Daniel Greenfield

Majority of Dems Like Socialism More Than Capitalism

The blue states are turning red.

47% of Democrats view capitalism positively, down from 56% in 2016
57% of Democrats now view socialism positively, little changed from 2010
Republicans very positive about capitalism; 16% positive on socialism

At least Max Boot gets represented in the poll.

Is this a surprise? The core Dem demographic used to be working people. Today it’s college students, government employees and welfare recipients. Why shouldn’t they love socialism?

They already live under it.

And don’t ask the poll respondents to define either capitalism or socialism except in terms of, “You have to work for a corporation” or “The government takes care of all your needs.”

For the first time in Gallup’s measurement over the past decade, Democrats have a more positive image of socialism than they do of capitalism.

For the first time, Democrats are no longer Democrats. They’re socialists. Officially.
